Seller Terms

These Seller Terms and Conditions ("Terms") are the agreement between you and MISHMASH when you send us items to sell on your behalf. By submitting items to us, you are confirming that you have read and agree to everything in these Terms. If you have questions before sending anything, please reach out to us first — we are happy to help.
1. HOW MISHMASH WORKS
MISHMASH is a consignment platform. This means you keep ownership of your items until they are sold. You send us your items, we take care of everything — photography, listing, pricing, marketing, and shipping to the buyer — and when an item sells, we transfer your share of the earnings to you.
We do not buy your items from you upfront. We only earn our commission when your item sells.
Think of it this way: we are your sales team. You supply the items, we do the work to sell them, and we share the earnings once a sale happens.
2. BEFORE WE COLLECT YOUR ITEMS
Before we schedule a pickup, we ask that you send us clear photos of every item you want to consign. This allows us to check the condition and confirm eligibility before we collect anything. It saves everyone time.
Once we have reviewed your photos, we will confirm which items we can accept and arrange a pickup.
After we collect your items, you will receive a signed receipt confirming exactly what we have taken. Please keep this receipt.
3. PICKUP OPTIONS AND FEES
We currently offer pickup from Cairo and Giza only. Sellers outside Cairo or Giza, will need to send their items to us directly. Please contact us to coordinate this.
Premium Pickup — EGP 300
Recommended for luxury, delicate, or high-value items. A MISHMASH team member personally collects your items, ensuring they are handled with extra care from start to finish. Premium pickup is available in Cairo and Giza only.
Pickup fees are collected upfront at the time of booking.
4. WHAT WE ACCEPT
We accept the following categories. Each has its own brand and condition requirements, detailed in the Annexes at the end of this document.
• Clothing: Tops, bottoms, dresses, jackets, coats, and skirts. Mid-range to luxury brands. Local brands accepted.
• Bags: Mid-to-high end brands only.
• Shoes: Mid-to-high end brands only.
• Accessories: Belts, wallets, scarves, hats, card holders, and sunglasses. Mid-to-high end brands only.
• Fashion & costume jewellery: Mid-to-high end brands only.
We do not currently accept gold, diamon and fine jewellery, watches, menswear, children's clothing, swimwear, sleepwear, bridal gowns, or tailor-made pieces. We also do not accept ultra-fast-fashion brands such as SHEIN, Temu, Bershka, C&A, Stradivarius, or Primark across any category.
For bags and shoes, we accept mid-to-high end brands only. For example, we accept Zara clothing but we do not accept Zara bags or shoes.
Refer to Annex B for the full list of what we can and cannot accept.
5. INSPECTIONS AND AUTHENTICATION
Every item we receive goes through a thorough inspection against our Quality and Condition Standards, outlined in Annex A. Items that do not meet our standards will not be listed for sale.
Designer Bag Authentication
All designer bags submitted to MISHMASH are authenticated through Entrupy, a globally recognised authentication service. This ensures buyers can shop with full confidence.
Authentication Fee: EGP 1,800 per bag, deducted from your earnings after the bag sells. If a bag does not sell and is returned to you, the authentication fee is still charged.
If a bag fails authentication, it will not be listed and will be returned to you. MISHMASH reserves the right to report suspected counterfeit items to the relevant authorities.
6. IF WE CANNOT LIST YOUR ITEM
If an item does not pass our inspection, we will notify you and give you the following options:
• Premium car return: 350 EGP paid in advance. We deliver back to you using our premium car service.
• Collect it in person: You can come and collect unaccepted items from our location within 30 days of being notified. There is no charge for in-person collection.
• Have it shipped back to you: Arrange your own courier at your responsibility.
• Donate or recycle it: If you prefer, we can responsibly donate or recycle the item on your behalf at no charge.
For items that do not pass inspection, we will notify you and ask that collection is arranged within 30 days. Items held after this period are subject to a storage fee of 10 to 30 EGP per day depending on quantity and size.
7. HOW LONG YOUR ITEMS STAY WITH US
We invest significantly in photographing, processing, and marketing every item we list. Because of this, items need to stay with us for a minimum period so we have a fair chance to sell them.
Clothing — Minimum 3 Months
Clothing items must remain listed with MISHMASH for at least 3 months from the date they are listed.
Bags, Shoes, and Accessories — Minimum 4 Months
Bags, shoes, and accessories must remain listed with MISHMASH for at least 4 months from the date they are listed.
You cannot request your items back before the minimum period is up. If you do, early collection fees will apply (see Section 9).
After the minimum period, if your item has not sold, you can collect it in person at no charge, or request return shipment for a fee. Please refer to our Returns and Shipping page for current rates.
8. PRICING
MISHMASH determines the listing price of each item based on its brand, condition, original retail value, current market demand, and seasonal relevance.
You are welcome to suggest a price or share a price range that you feel is fair. We take your input into account, but the final listing price is always set by MISHMASH. Once your item is listed, the price cannot be changed by you.
We price items to sell. Our goal is to find the right price that attracts buyers quickly while earning you the best possible return.
9. DISCOUNTS AND PROMOTIONS
If an item has not sold after a period of time, MISHMASH may reduce the price to increase its chances of selling. Here is how this works:
Clothing
After every 3 months without a sale, we may reduce the price of a clothing item by up to 20%. This helps keep items fresh and competitive in the market.
Bags, Shoes, and Accessories
After 4 months without a sale, we may reduce the price by up to 20%.
MISHMASH also reserves the right to include items in platform-wide sales or promotional campaigns at any time.
Important: Your payout is always calculated on the final price the item sells for — after any discounts. It is never calculated on the original listing price. By consigning with us, you agree to this.
We do not notify sellers individually before applying a discount. We manage pricing across hundreds of items and need the flexibility to act quickly. Please factor this in when you decide to consign.
10. OUR COMMISSION
MISHMASH earns a commission on every item sold. Here is the breakdown:
Clothing
• MISHMASH commission: 30%
• Your earnings: 70% of the item's price
Bags, Shoes, and Accessories
• MISHMASH commission: 25%
• Your earnings: 75% of the item's price
Buyer Service Fee (Clothing Only): For clothing items, MISHMASH adds a 15% buyer service fee on top of the listed price. This is paid by the buyer — it does not come out of your earnings. Bags, shoes, and accessories do not have a buyer service fee.
Example: A dress is listed at EGP 10,000. The buyer pays EGP 11,500 (which includes the 15% buyer service fee). Your earnings are calculated on EGP 10,000. After MISHMASH's 30% commission, you receive EGP 7,000 — before any discounts that may have been applied.
11. WHEN AND HOW YOU GET PAID
We process payouts on the 15th and 30th of every month. If either of these dates falls on a weekend or a public holiday, your payout will be processed on the next working day.
Clothing Items
Your payout for a clothing sale will be included in the next payout cycle after the 7-day buyer return window has passed. Buyers have 7 days from the delivery date to return a clothing item if it does not match the described condition. Once that window closes without a return, your money is processed.
Bags, Shoes, and Accessories
These items are not eligible for buyer returns. Once a bag, shoe, or accessory is sold and delivered, the sale is final. Your payout will be included in the next scheduled payout cycle after the confirmed sale.
How to Track Your Earnings
You can track your sales, pending payouts, and full earnings history through your Seller Dashboard on your MISHMASH account. Log in at any time to see an up-to-date picture of your earnings.

MISHMASH reserves the right to update payment methods and payout timelines. We will give you advance notice of any material changes.
12. TAKING YOUR ITEMS BACK EARLY
We understand that circumstances change. However, because we invest in photography, listing, and marketing for every item from the moment we receive it, we are not able to release items before the minimum listing period without a fee.
Early Collection — Clothing (Before 3 Months)
If you wish to reclaim a clothing item before the 3-month period is up, a processing fee will apply. This fee reflects the costs already incurred by MISHMASH, including photography, listing, handling, and any marketing spend on your item. The fee will be calculated and communicated to you at the time of your request.
Early Collection — Bags, Shoes, and Accessories (Before 4 Months)
If you wish to reclaim a bag before the 4-month period is up, an early collection fee of EGP 1,500 applies, plus any authentication fees already incurred (EGP 1,800 if the bag was authenticated through Entrupy). These fees must be paid before the item is released to you.
For shoes and accessories, an early collection fee will apply and will be communicated to you at the time of your request.
All early collection fees must be settled before items are released.
13. WHAT HAPPENS TO UNSOLD ITEMS
After the minimum listing period, if your item has not sold and you have not been in touch with us, the following applies:
• We may apply further discounts to give the item a final push.
• We may delist the item from the platform.
• If we have not heard from you within 6 months of the end of the minimum listing period, MISHMASH reserves the right to donate or recycle the item.
We will always try to reach you before taking any of the above steps. Please make sure your contact details on your account are up to date.
14. OUR RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR ITEMS
Once your items are in our possession, we take full responsibility for their safekeeping. MISHMASH is fully responsible for any loss or damage caused by our negligence or mishandling while your items are with us.
If something goes wrong on our end, we will make it right.
Shipping to Us
Once a courier collects your items on our behalf, MISHMASH assumes responsibility for them from that point forward. If items are lost or damaged during transit to us, we will investigate and resolve the matter.
Your Responsibility Before Collection
Please ensure your items are properly packaged before our courier arrives. MISHMASH cannot be held responsible for damage that occurs due to inadequate packaging on your end.
If you experience any issue with a collection or delivery, please contact us at support@mishmash-store.com within 48 hours of becoming aware of the problem.
15. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
By submitting items to MISHMASH, you confirm and guarantee the following:
(a) You are the legal owner of the items and have the full right to sell them.
(b) The items are not counterfeit, stolen, or in violation of anyone else's rights.
(c) The items have no outstanding liens, debts, or legal claims attached to them.
(d) Everything you tell us about your items is accurate and honest.
(e) Your items comply with all applicable Egyptian laws and regulations.
Sellers who submit counterfeit or stolen items will be permanently banned from MISHMASH. We reserve the right to report such cases to the relevant authorities. Any costs or losses incurred by MISHMASH as a result will be the seller's responsibility.
16. HOW WE USE PHOTOS OF YOUR ITEMS
To list and sell your items, MISHMASH will professionally photograph every accepted piece. By submitting items to us, you give MISHMASH permission to use these photos and any other content we create in connection with your items — for listings, social media, marketing campaigns, advertisements, and any other commercial purpose — without any further approval or payment required.
All photos and content produced by MISHMASH belong to MISHMASH. We will never use your personal name or identify you as the seller in any public-facing content.
17. NO GUARANTEE OF SALE
MISHMASH puts real effort into selling every item we list. However, we cannot guarantee that every item will sell, or that it will sell within a specific timeframe. The final sale depends on buyer demand, market conditions, and seasonality — factors that are outside our control.
By consigning with us, you acknowledge and accept this.
18. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make any important changes, we will notify active sellers via email or through the platform at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continuing to use our services after that point means you accept the updated Terms.
19. ENDING THE ARRANGEMENT
MISHMASH may suspend or end its relationship with a seller at any time if these Terms are breached, or for any other legitimate reason.
If you want to stop consigning with us, you can do so at any time — subject to the minimum listing periods and any applicable fees set out in these Terms.
Any earnings owed to you at the time of ending the arrangement will be paid out in the next available payout cycle, once all items are accounted for and there are no outstanding disputes.
20. PROTECTING YOURSELF AND US
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, MISHMASH's responsibility to you for any single item is limited to the agreed listing price of that item. We are not responsible for any indirect losses such as lost profits or missed opportunities beyond that.
Indemnification
If MISHMASH faces any legal claim, cost, or loss because of something you did — such as submitting a counterfeit or stolen item — you agree to cover those costs.
Unexpected Events
If something completely outside our control prevents us from fulfilling our obligations — such as a natural disaster, a government restriction, or a courier network failure — we will not be held liable. We will always do our best to minimise disruption and resume normal operations as quickly as possible.
21. DISPUTES AND GOVERNING LAW
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt. If a dispute arises between you and MISHMASH, we ask that you reach out to us directly first — most issues can be resolved quickly through open conversation.
If we cannot resolve a dispute within 30 days of you raising it in writing, it will be referred to the competent courts of Egypt.
22. GENERAL
• Entire Agreement: These Terms, along with our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, represent the full agreement between you and MISHMASH for consignment services.
• If One Part Is Invalid: If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest of the Terms remain in full effect.
• No Partnership: These Terms do not make you an employee, agent, or partner of MISHMASH. You are an independent seller.
• No Waiver: If MISHMASH does not enforce a particular rule on one occasion, that does not mean we are giving it up permanently.
A. ANNEX A: QUALITY AND CONDITION STANDARDS
Every item submitted to MISHMASH goes through a quality inspection. Please review the checklist below before sending us anything — it saves time for both of us.
Pre-Submission Checklist — All Items
• Items must be clean. If an item arrives with stains, odours, or visible dirt, we will either return it or clean it for a fee of EGP 180 per item, deducted from your earnings.
• All hardware must be functional. Zippers, buttons, clasps, buckles, and fasteners must work. Items with broken hardware will not be listed.
• Labels must be intact. For clothing, size, brand, and care labels must be present. For bags, dust bags, boxes, and authenticity cards are welcome but not required. For shoes, original boxes are welcome but not required.
• Empty all pockets. Remove all personal belongings before sending items to us. Any personal items found will be discarded.
Additional Checks by Category
• Clothing: Check underarms, collar, hem, and lining for hidden wear or staining.
• Bags: Check corners, handles, hardware, and the interior lining.
• Shoes: Check soles, heels, insoles, uppers, and any straps or buckles.
Condition Grades
We grade every item using the following scale:
• New with Tags: Unused, with original tags attached. No signs of use.
• Like New: No visible signs of use. Appears unworn or unused.
• Very Good: Very light signs of gentle use. You have to look closely to notice anything.
• Good: Moderate signs of use. Still fully wearable and presentable.
• Fair: Visible signs of use, but fully functional and intact. Priced accordingly.
Items in worse condition than Fair will generally not be accepted. MISHMASH's decision on condition grading and acceptance is final.
B. ANNEX B: WHAT WE ACCEPT AND WHAT WE DO NOT
Accepted Categories
• Clothing (Tops, Bottoms, Dresses, Jackets, Coats, Skirts): Mid-range to luxury brands. Local brands accepted for clothing.
• Bags: Mid-to-high end brands only. Minimum listing period is 4 months.
• Shoes: Mid-to-high end brands only.
• Accessories (Belts, Wallets, Scarves, Hats, Card Holders, Sunglasses): Mid-to-high end brands only.
• Fashion & costume jewellery: Mid-to-high end brands only.
Not Accepted
• Items with holes, rips, tears, heavy staining, strong odours, significant fading, or missing parts.
• Counterfeit or replica items of any kind.
• Bridal gowns.
• Tailor-made or bespoke pieces.
• Structurally altered items.
• Ultra-fast-fashion brands including SHEIN, Temu, Primark, Stradivarius, Bershka, and their equivalents — across all categories, no exceptions.
• Zara, H&M, Mango, and similar high street brand bags and shoes (clothing from these brands is accepted, but not their bags or shoes).
• Jewellery (gold, diamonds, etc.) and watches.
• Menswear, children's clothing, swimwear, or sleepwear.
MISHMASH reserves the right to decline any item at its sole discretion, including items from otherwise accepted categories, if they do not meet our quality, condition, brand, or trend standards. This decision is final.
